Happy Cinco de Mayo to all my friends and family. I love you all. Peace, love, great health, and prosperity.
This Cinco de Mayo I celebrate 8 months SOBER from alcohol. What a huge accomplishment!!! Living life one day at a time, present and to the fullest. This is the abundant life Jesus talks about. Many may wonder did she drink every day? No! Did she pass out when she drank? No! Was she an irresponsible mom? No! But what I did do was every time life got hard I turned to vices to cope with the hard things in life. One of my vices was alcohol. When I was in my 20s I hurt a lot of people due to my drinking, and when I was in my 30s I realized all the pain that was caused to me by loved ones that struggled with alcohol. It was a pattern I learned. I didn’t want this life for my kids. I wanted generational patterns to end with ME! I didn’t want them to see me handle life in an unhealthy way. I didn’t want my body, and my mind to suffer any longer from the addiction of alcohol( have you ever seen what it does to your brain?). Google a healthy brain and an alcoholic brain! I wanted to break free from the bondage of the desire to turn to alcohol. Instead I wanted to turn to Jesus for strength and comfort. Did you know you can be sober curious and not be an alcoholic? That’s normal and being sober isn’t weird!! Your willingness is all it takes to turn your life around. Then it’s a one day at a time journey—all those that have pursued this journey know what I mean when I say “one day at a time”. I highly reccomend this lifestyle it takes self discipline and God’s strength but you reap so many blessings!!
Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day(that’s sept 16) it is a holiday that was created to market alcohol, Mexican food, desserts and decor in the U.S. My family and I still celebrate it as a way to learn about our culture. Stay safe! For all my sober peeps one day a time God grants us serenity and freedom!
